READ MOREA number of people have been referred to the Mindful Tai Chi group through Social Prescribing to help them manage their anxiety and depression better. Feedback has shown that it has benefitted them in a number of different ways all of which have been positive. Tai Chi has helped them to improve their confidence, encouraged them to access a community activity, increase social networks, help manage symptoms in a more positive way and improve overall mental wellbeing. The group was kept small so that individuals felt more comfortable and this also enabled David to give each person individual support when needed. All participants have commented that David is welcoming and kind and has a good understanding of their needs particularly around the barriers people face regarding mental health issues. Some referred individuals also had physical difficulties so Tai Chi was an ideal activity as they were able to participate at their own pace and sitting down if needed. Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and promotes a positive lifestyle for all. David has been a pleasure to work with."
Below are a selection of comments I have received from patients referred to your Tai Chi group:
‘Tai Chi helped me because it took me out of myself for a couple of hours a week. I found that David was very kind and approachable.’
‘I felt much more relaxed and focused after each session. I felt at ease with David.’
‘I felt very comfortable in the group and thought the instructor had a good understanding of my needs.’
